Hoenheim, France · Our beginnings

It began with a feel for fabric.

In Hoenheim, France, Helen’s mother ran a curtain workshop. Helen began behind the scenes, making curtains for other businesses and learning the patience behind every measurement, seam and finished fold.

She saw how fabric could soften light and change the feeling of a room. Those hours at the worktable gave her an eye for detail — and the confidence to imagine a path of her own.

2015 · An online store in France

A shop of her own.

In 2015, Helen founded Sophora Déco and opened an online store in France. For the first time, she could speak directly with the people who would live with the curtains she knew so well.

Their questions about fabric, fit and finish gave her a new way to use her craft: helping each person choose details that felt right for their home.

A wider world of choice.

As Sophora Déco reached homes across Europe, Helen looked further afield for fabrics and craftsmanship she could bring into the collection. That search connects suppliers around the world through TRADING PASSION LIMITED in Hong Kong, which also operates the online store. Her eye for materials continues to guide every choice.

2023 · Across the Atlantic

A new chapter in the U.S.

In 2023, Sophora Déco began exploring the U.S. market, discovering how its fabrics and ideas might fit different homes and ways of living. Today, our U.S. customer care line keeps that conversation open across the Atlantic. Wherever the story takes us, choosing something for your home should still feel personal.

2026 · A place to meet in France

The story opens its doors.

In 2026, Sophora Déco opened a physical shop in France. Fabric could now be felt, colours seen in daylight and ideas shared face to face.

For Helen, it brought together the hands-on beginnings of the workshop and the relationships built online. The story had become a place to meet — and a new beginning for the homes still to come.
